Rahul Bhavsar: Why I joined Pragmateam

Living in a world surrounded by products of all shapes and sizes, I used to wonder what went on in the minds of people who built those.

Thankfully, the answer has not been evasive, as my career in business analysis and product management so far has taught me to be one of those people.

But — learning being a lifelong pursuit — I recently realised the need to reconnect better with the products that are changing people's lives in more obvious ways. And this realisation eventually culminated in me joining Pragmateam last week.

While it was obvious right from the beginning that Pragmateam is different from many other companies out there, it is much more so after my first week here!

But what's so different about Pragmateam?

Admittedly, there's no dearth of opportunities out there in a red-hot candidate's market. But Pragmateam stood out among those, because...

It's an open, honest collective of like-minded individuals

Founded by agile coaches, this is a community of agile and product practitioners who enjoy working with each other. In this way, we can discover, deliver and coach teams at any stage of their product journey. Expertise is easily available and happily shared.

Nobody needs to focus on navigating workplace politics when our time is best utilised solving real problems, for real teams!

Mindset over Experience

You'd be surprised at how many companies claim they look for skills, not experience, yet end up going for the latter intentionally or unintentionally.

People at Pragmateam are different.

While the experience does matter, you're primarily assessed based on the transferable skills. The focus on mindset and potential (what you can do) is higher than achievements and accomplishments (what you have done).

Solving diverse problems

With a diverse set of clients across industries — from FinTech to government to start-ups — the learning never ends!

It helps drive a culture of constant pursuit of knowledge that gets oneself ready for anything.

Thanking your colleagues, for real

PragmaThanks makes it possible to award PragmaPoints to your colleagues for a job well done, which they can claim on things related to their learning & development or remote working setup.

While the emotions associated with every "thank you" cannot be measured, it feels empowering to know that colleagues can contribute more than two words!

And I wouldn't mention individual learning and development budget or the team offsites - 'coz who doesn't do them, right? :)
