Who we are
We started Pragmateam with the idea of working with like-minded people and forming strong partnerships with clients to help them deliver better.
The word 'team' is in 'Pragmateam' for a reason: our value and what makes us different comes from working together and with our clients as a team.
We are software engineers, testers, designers and product managers but we are quite T-shaped: helping each other and collaborating is in our core.
We value clear and transparent communication, we are passionate about the work and always keen to learn more.

The Pragmateam story
Pragmateam started in 2014 to bring pragmatic, lasting change to how products were managed and delivered and how teams worked together. We helped organisations scale and improve agile and lean ways of working, driven by passionate practitioners who wanted pragmatic changes to be 'sticky' for clients and not disappear when we left.
As we started delivery engagements, we focused on building strong product and engineering capability. We brought together experienced software engineers, product and delivery leaders who combined technical excellence with the empathy needed to work alongside client teams. Long-term partnerships, not transactional projects, became the foundation of how we worked.
Over time, product development and co-delivery became our core. The coaching mindset remains part of our DNA but today it is applied through disciplined, hands-on software delivery. We focus on building high-quality products, strong engineering practices and effective distributed teams, both locally and offshore.
Now we are doubling down on the opportunity to access high-calibre offshore talent at a materially lower cost base without lowering our standards. We also heard from clients who wanted our help building and integrating offshore teams, not outsourcing delivery. We now enable clients to build dedicated teams they can own long term, eliminating the lock-in risks traditionally associated with service providers.
But just like when this all started, ultimately we still look for like-minded people to work with and to form strong client partnerships where we simply help deliver things better.
Juliano Bersano | Founder
Read bio
Juliano has spent more than 25 years building teams and delivering fit-for-purpose products that work in the real world.
He began his career as a developer in Brazil before moving into leadership roles at HP, in consulting and offshore R&D teams. He later served as Director of Technology for data quality and marketing products, moved to Australia in 2007, and went on to lead agile projects and delivery assurance at Thoughtworks, including offshore teams.
Before founding Pragmateam, Juliano worked as an agile delivery coach for organisations like CBA, Telstra, Westpac, IAG, BT Finance, SingTel (Singapore) and SoundCloud (Germany), helping them prioritise effectively, deliver incrementally and build sustainable product delivery capability.
At Pragmateam, Juliano leads the business with culture at its core, combining strong product delivery with transparency and collaboration, while remaining hands-on in client delivery, advisory work and the leadership of offshore teams.
Outside work, he can usually be found playing padel, booking his next visit to Manila or enjoying a good glass of wine.
Our local and offshore teams
Offshore done wrong is frustrating, so we only offered it when we could set it up for success. Our first offshore team started in 2017 to scale with top talent for a client, having economic benefits follow, not drive.
Our local team provides leadership and works face-to-face with clients when needed. Our offshore teams allow us to scale while maintaining our quality standards, creating a very compelling value proposition.
We have offshore teams in the Philippines for Australia-aligned work but we also have an offshore option in Brazil, to support U.S. or European teams.
Our culture, ways of working and values are shared so that ‘local’ or ‘offshore’ becomes irrelevant: we operate as one integrated team, like we want our clients to do.

Founded to make agile change stick, leading and embedding disciplined ways of working inside real teams, not just coaching from the side.
2016
Building Software
We expand from agile coaching into hands-on software delivery, applying what we teach and coaching client delivery teams.
2017
Scaling Offshore
Our first offshore product team is established in Brazil, beginning our journey into distributed delivery and successful integration.
2019
Product Delivery
We commit fully to digital product delivery as our core craft, combining product leadership with rigorous software engineering.
2022
Startup Partnership
We begin partnering deeply with non-tech founders, building end-to-end products on their behalf, taking full delivery responsibility.
2025
Philippines Expansion
We expand offshore into the Philippines, giving clients structured offshore capability, top talent, reduced offshore risk and long-term ownership.
