Human-Centred Design Lead
Sam is a User Researcher, Experience Designer, Service Designer, and Design Manager. He’s fascinated by the ways technology facilitates human connections.
Previously a Service Designer at the DTA and the UX Director at both The White Agency and Havas, he helped ensure the user experience was always considered, whilst balancing the strategic and commercial needs of each client’s business.
After geeking out on an engineering doctorate, Sam turned his fascination with the internet into a career. First with a startup, then with several consultancies and design agencies, and eventually by starting a digital design business.
He’s collaborated with clients in Melbourne, Sydney, London, and San Francisco, working on brands from Holden to Rolls-Royce, Telstra to O2, ABC to BBC, and Lion Nathan to Diageo.
These days Sam’s focused on combining design and systems thinking techniques to help guide organisations toward delivering improved services for their users. And to help develop the design talent of the future, he teaches a UX course at Macleay College.
